___________
FRANÇOIS X
François X stands as a pivotal force in modern techno, blending high-velocity club energy with emotional depth. This French visionary emerged from Paris’s underground, where his residency at Concrete shaped his distinct sound—merging raw physicality with hypnotic rhythms. His performances at Berghain, Fabric, and Awakenings have established him globally.
François’s work honors Black American electronic heritage while embracing European sound design innovation. Through releases on MDR and BPitch Control, his 2018 debut album „Irregular Passion,” and his XX LAB platform, he continues breaking boundaries. His latest project, „Straight Edge Society” (2025), reflects his commitment to experiencing music in its purest form. His journey is an inspiration to break free from rigid boundaries, proving that techno can be both uncompromising and
expansive.

WALENTIN PAUER
A cartographer mapping sound territories where darkness meets light, Walentin Pauer’s creativity lays in restlessness. Honed through Control Club residency, this has evolved into uncanny room-reading alchemy that preserves dancefloor integrity. From Bucharest to Berlin’s Renate, Paris’s La Rotonde, and beyond, Pauer is moved by an experimental ethos that refuses stagnation.

_________
BASSTIEN
Bucharest’s sonic instigator Basstien crafts neural pathways between schranz intensity and industrial precision. His hard techno sets are mathematical, yet primal. They build spaces where tension accumulates before collapsing into cathartic release. Neither warehouse concrete nor open-air expanses can contain his kinetic urgency.

Following an epic display of laid-back forces, Room 2 sees the return of a well-seasoned duo: Baron P. & Corvin.
________
BARON P.
Baron P.’s decades-long musical path extends beyond mere selections—in his sets true gems resurface alongside tomorrow’s classics. Since 2006, the CABAL and Sunday Scoop architect has refined the art of tension cultivation, crafting narratives where deep house evolves into euphoric release points.

CORVIN
What Corvin does best is to transcend categorization by dissolving boundaries between disciplines. His approach mirrors his celebrated spatial designs—identifying invisible connections between seemingly disparate elements. In his DJ sets, jazz ephemera intersects with subterranean discoveries, creating environments where each track exists in perfect conversation with the next.

SULLY [UK]
Headlining the night, a pioneer who carved his niche between UK garage’s swing, dubstep’s edge, and breakstep’s drums long before the „future” garage renaissance. While staying deliberately on the periphery of the bass music scene’s hype cycles, Sully’s distinctive sound has achieved a rare permanence that speaks to his exceptional talent.

ctrl LIVE: Pierre Omer’s Swing Revue (UK/CH)
[Swing] [Garage]
Pierre Omer’s Swing Revue brings their genre-twisting swing to Control Club on Wednesday, May 14.
Pierre Omer, a founder member of the legendary funeral orchestra the Dead Brothers, writes most of the original material of the band, rooted in blues, swing, exotica, experimental and film noir. The songwriting is rather dark, addressing the troubled times we’re going through. But the band reminds us that swing is, and always has been an energetic, joyful and fearless music for a troubled and absurd world.
Replacing the double bass with her left hand, new band member keyboardist Geraldine Schenkel on the iconic Fender Rhodes and Clavinet, played through wha-wha pedals and fuzz boxes, takes the band on a whole new musical journey. At times also on the bandoneon, the Argentinian accordion, Schenkel infuses that melodramatic venom to the music.
Talking about melodrama, trumpet player Christoph Gantert from Zürich (but looking as if he just came out of a seventies French crime movie) blows every note as if his life was on the edge of the abyss. His singing and songwriting skills are very noticeable on a few numbers. Also to mention his ever-growing collection of flûtes, whistles and noisy toys that he uses as a perfect contrapoint to the drama.
Julien Israelian, the hero of the singing and explosive drums, is the keeper, together with Pierre Omer’s rhythm guitar, to that tireless groove. Nasty yet nonchalant, heavy yet subtle beat. Drum parts usually fly through the room during his playful and wild solos, not hurting the tuxedo effect before the end of the performance.
Holding it all together, the head and heart of the band, Pierre Omer on vocals and guitar elegantly shares his true love for beautiful melodies (telling you terrible stories) but also for the drive and the dirt of garage rock and surreal humor.

We do not enjoy having to share news like this with you, but the show set for tonight will not happen due to health issues.
All parties involved regret this and the band wrote a message for you:
“We are so sad to have to cancel the show tonight in Bucharest. 3 of the band are really unwell and I’m unable to speak let alone sing.
We’ve been looking forward to this show a long time, and we are so sorry to not be able to play it.
Love, Dana and the rest of Porridge Radio.”
Tickets will be automatically refunded by Eventbook.
Thank you for your understanding and we wish the artists a super fast recovery.
—————————-
Control is about to host one of the most electrifying bands of our time. On May 10, 2025, Porridge Radio, the Brighton quartet renowned for their emotionally charged indie rock, will fill the room with their signature blend of jagged intensity and cathartic release.
Porridge Radio are a London based band from the UK, formed in Brighton in 2015 around band leader Dana Margolin. The band’s powerful live performances and rawly emotive lyrics have garnered a dedicated following, with their previous 2 albums Mercury Prize shortlisted (‘Every Bad’) and entering the Top 40 (‘Waterslide…’).
Their barbed wit, lacerating intensity and potent blend of art-rock, indie-pop and post-punk sounds like little else around, and led to their 2020 album Every Bad making the coveted Mercury Prize shortlist.
If Every Bad established Dana’s lemon-sharp, heart-on-sleeve honesty, Porridge Radio’s third album takes that to anthemic new heights. Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky is the sound of someone in their mid-twenties facing down the disappointment of love, and life, and figuring out how to exist in the world, without claiming any answers. With Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky, Porridge Radio have distilled their myriad influences down like they’re flipping through their own singular dial: dreamy yet intense, gentle but razor-edged, widescreen and yet totally intimate.
In October 2024, Porridge Radio – with keyboardist Georgie Stott, drummer Sam Yardley and bassist Dan Hutchins alongside Margolin – released their critically acclaimed fourth album, ‘Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me’, on label Secretly Canadian. Produced by Dom Monks (Big Thief, Laura Marling) and recorded live, ‘Clouds…’ delves even deeper into themes of love, loss, and personal growth.
__
Opening the night we’ll have the local act Asincron – an alternative rock band, drawing mainly from emo, shoegaze, and grunge influences.
Their debut album captures all these different inspirations, yet manages to unify them through a shared feeling of sadness and anger. These emotions are expressed both in the lyrics and the instrumentals, blending together to help the band articulate their inner experiences.
The album serves as a documentation of their existence and journey over the past few years since they began making music together.

Dirty Disco returns to Room 1, beckoning you into a night where inhibitions dissolve under strobe lights. Eugen Rădescu comes, as per yooj, armed with a provocative blend of nostalgic anthems and sultry beats that gets everyone getting down.
Bodies will collide, strangers will become dance partners, and Monday’s regrets are still a Sunday away. Your weekend salvation awaits—come surrender. All we ask for: leave your inhibitions at the door.
Room 2 transforms under the masterful touch of Control’s timeless curator Leo. The architect of countless unforgettable nights throughout aeons, his vast musical arsenal gets genres to collide and eras to blend: post-punk whispers to electro pop and britpop dances with grunge.

François X brings his uncompromising vision to Room 1 on May 16, as raw emotion meets hypnotic rhythms in a ground-breaking night that promises to push and connect. Joined by Walentin Pauer and Basstien as supporting acts, stillness becomes physically impossible.
___________

On Thursday, May 15, aim+wall presents a new night where boundaries blur and sounds collide in Room 1 — something we’ve all come to expect from the Bucharest trio’s sense of curation. But there’s more unexpected things to explore across Room 2.
___________

BĂLĂ (LIVE)
Witness a rare live performance from Alex Bălă, an experimental sound artist known for his work with #FLUID and deathbycoconut. Bălă crafts intricate sonic landscapes where Eastern European folk rhythms intertwine with ambient textures and fractured beats. His performances transform spaces into immersive sound rituals that feel simultaneously ancient and futuristic.

ctrl LIVE: Pierre Omer’s Swing Revue (UK/CH)

Deeply in love with vinyl, drawing her inspiration from various artists, styles of music, arts or other life pleasures, Alexandra doesn’t want to be labeled under some specific music genres.
In 2016 Alexandra teams-up with Vera to create in Berlin their first electronic music label called Melliflow and they also started to host their own label showcases in Germany’s capital city, at Club der Visionaere and Hoppetosse.
Along with DJ Slim Fit she has formed The Apricots.

His predilection for breakbeat rhythms, often heard in his tunes, comes from the early bassline driven UK sound of the ‘90s and the rave air of the same intense decade. His songs also cruise into a realm of dreamy and emotional melodies, born out of his
reflective journeys into the depths of his soul and his life experiences.
